Lawn Opus

Lawn Opus privacy policy

Last updated:

Lawn Opus is a puzzle game made by Lawn Opus Game ("we"), whom you can reach at [email protected]. This policy says what the game collects and why. In short: nothing that identifies you, and you can turn off all of it.

What stays on your phone

Your progress, layouts, best scores, settings and purchases are saved on your phone, in the game's own storage. They are included in your phone's own backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android) under your account with Apple or Google; we never see them. Deleting the game deletes them.

Anonymous play statistics

While Share anonymous play statistics is on in Settings (it is on when you first install the game), the game sends us anonymous facts about how play goes, so we can see where the game is too hard or breaks: which screens and levels you open, try, solve or leave and when, scores, tries and minutes spent, daily lawns and streaks, shares, hints taken, settings changed, errors the game runs into, the game version, and the kind of device, its system, screen size, language and time zone. Once the game has ads and a shop, they also say which ads were shown and what you buy or restore (the product, never a price). They come with a random id made for your install of the game. That id is not your device's advertising id and is not linked to you, your name, your email or any account.

We never collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos or anything you type, and never your layouts. We do not use cookies, do not track you across other apps or websites, and do not sell or share the statistics with anyone for advertising.

Turning it off

Switch off Share anonymous play statistics in Settings, under Privacy. From that moment nothing more is sent. Turning it off is itself never sent.

Why we may collect it

We collect the statistics because we have a legitimate interest in finding out where the game breaks or is too hard, so we can fix it (Article 6(1)(f) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation). They are anonymous to us, and you can stop them at any time with the switch above.

Who processes it

The statistics are stored by PostHog, Inc. on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt), as our processor. We ask PostHog not to store IP addresses and not to look up a location from them. We keep the statistics for as long as they help improve the game, and at most 2 years.

Children

The game is suitable for everyone and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with data protection laws, you have the right to ask what we hold about you and to have it deleted. Because the statistics are not linked to you, we can only find them by your install's random id; write to [email protected] and we will help however we can. You can also complain to a data protection authority; ours is the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia.

This website

lawnopus.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites. Our host, Vercel, keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Changes

If the game starts collecting anything else (for example when ads arrive), this page changes first and the date above with it.
